Overview of the programme
Artificial intelligence, and Data Science are rapidly changing the world, with applications in fields ranging from autonomous vehicles, finance (FinTech), marketing, logistics and supply chain, fraud detection and personalized medicine to personal assistants, epidemiology, precision agriculture, industrial robots & automation, and last but not the least, smart appliances. LNMIIT has led the higher education in India academic roadmap and is now setting up a state-of-the-art International Centre of Artificial Intelligence (LICAI) in the field of Artificial Intelligence, a Centre of Excellence involving cutting edge technologies in academics, research, and innovation to focus in areas of AI and Data Science. It is only natural, then, that the International Centre of Artificial Intelligence (LICAI) would offer programmes like:
1. 5-year Integrated B. Sc, M. Sc degrees in Artificial Intelligence
2. 5-year Integrated B. Sc, M. Sc degrees in Data Science
Both the above programmes mostly focus on how complex inputs — such as vision, language, huge databases, and raw unstructured data — can be used to make business decisions or enhance human capabilities. The curriculum includes coursework not only in computer science, mathematics, statistics, computational modelling, machine learning and artificial Intelligence algorithms, but also in business domains like FinTech, Marketing, Optimization in Logistics, Colour Technology, agriculture, and healthcare to name a few business domains. Because LNMIIT is devoted to and believes in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science for social good, the Program also blends in a few courses on ethics, social responsibility and policy making, with the option to participate in independent study projects that change the world for the better.
The Program will be conducted by practitioners from reputed industries, LICAI faculty, and faculty from LNMIIT’s existing departments. Faculty members from reputed foreign universities will also be involved in these programs to give our students of global learning experience, in India.
The curriculum is developed by industry and academic experts jointly to address the ever-growing gaps between academic institutions and industries. The curriculum is focused mostly on practical, skill-based learning rather than theoretical knowledge. The focus of these programs is to make most of the students, industry ready rather than only focusing on research-oriented output. However, as you know research also is an important and integral part of academics and is part of our institute, we will focus on research in different areas of technologies, research, including higher studies abroad for deserving outstanding students.
